Exciting Classes for Youth Ages 3-18
Destiny Arts Center offers a wide range of programs and classes for the benefit of our community’s young people. Our programs offer a place for local youth to explore messages of nonviolence and social activism through the performing and martial arts. Within this safe, stimulating, multicultural learning environment, youth collaborate with their peers and professionally-trained staff to develop self-esteem, artistic expression, and personal empowerment.
NEW CLASSES!
Theater: (ages 7-12)
This is an introductory class that covers the fundamentals in the world of theater. Students will not only learn to read and memorize scripts from published authors, they will also create their own and perform them in front of their classmates. This class will primarily use the 3 P's: Performance, Projection and Presence. This class is for beginners who are interested in learning the art of theatrical performance.
Real Talk/Real Moves (ages 13-18)
This class will be anchored in our new Violence Prevention Curriculum designed especially for teens – addressing the issues they face in their lives everyday. It will utilize a combination of group exercises, talking circles, self-defense and dance.

Coming up:
DAYMAT Auditions -- The Demo Team is a group of students who perform exciting martial arts demonstrations at various community events. Students must audition. Auditions to be held 9/18 at 6:00 PM
DAYPC Auditions -- This dynamic group of multicultural teens write, script, choreograph and create original, full-length performance pieces under the mentorship of professional artists. Since 1993, the group has performed all over the country to audiences in excess of 30,000. Students must audition. Auditions to be held 9/25 at 4:30.
