Senior Program Manager

Anna Maria Luera is the Senior Program Manager at Destiny Arts Center, where she works to ensure young people have access to quality art programs that support their creativity, depth, joy and activism. Originally from Arizona, Anna has lived in the Bay Area for 20 years and has been working with Destiny since 2018. Additionally, she has been a Destiny parent since 2011 when her son started taking Teddy Bear Hip Hop and Martial Arts!

Anna knows that when young people are actively engaged in their own creative growth and vision for the world, they not only positively transform and heal themselves, but our communities as well. Anna has worked as a Dream Director with The Future Project and as a Senior Program Director with Oakland Kids First. In addition to her work at Destiny, Anna is a mother and theatre artist. She a member of the award-winning Campo Santo Theatre company and has worked with young women to tell their stories through ritual theatre, restorative practice and political education.

Anna is trained in restorative justice, youth development, and arts integration.  She received the Equity in the Entertainment Industry Award from Stanford University’s Institute for Diversity in the Arts in 2015. She holds a BFA in Theatre from the University of New Mexico.
