This training is designed specifically for movement artists, those working with community and healers who wish to deepen their understanding of the body’s innate wisdom through somatic practices. It offers a comprehensive journey into exploring how the body communicates its needs, desires, and current states through sensations and movements.

Participants will be guided through a series of exercises that foster an enhanced connection to their own physicality, emphasizing mindfulness and the body’s internal experience. The workshop focuses on the principles of somatic education, which teaches individuals to recognize, release, and manage bodily tensions and restrictions that impact their overall well-being and performance.

To ensure a cohesive and fully immersive experience, participants are required to commit to the entire duration of the intensive. This commitment is crucial as each session builds upon the last, allowing for a progressive deepening of somatic awareness and skills. Your full participation will enable you to gain the maximum benefit from the training and contribute meaningfully to the group learning environment.

Love in Action is Destiny Arts Center’s winter recital that showcases students from our school & community partners. We open the door for families and communities to share in Destiny’s values: Love, Care, Respect, Responsibility, Honor and Peace. At this event, families get a chance to gather in one place to celebrate their children and the power of love, both on the stage and in the lives of each student.

This year, Love in Action will take place at one of our school sites, McClymonds High School, and will feature youth ages 3-18.
